Avocor B Series Pairs with NowSignage CMS in UK Partnership Targeting Education, Enterprise, and Retail

The pairing eliminates the external media player, reducing hardware complexity and total cost of ownership for digital signage installations.

What did Avocor and NowSignage announce on July 28?
Avocor, an AUO company, and NowSignage, a digital signage content management system (CMS) provider, announced a strategic partnership initially focused on the UK market. The agreement targets education, enterprise, and retail sectors. A phased global rollout is planned for 2027.
Which Avocor product is at the center of this partnership, and what is it?
The partnership is built around the Avocor B Series, a commercial digital signage display introduced at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in February. The B Series is Avocor's entry into the business and commercial digital signage display market, distinct from its established interactive display lines.
What does running NowSignage directly on the B Series mean for the hardware side of an installation?
The NowSignage software application loads directly onto the B Series display, removing the need for a separate external media player. According to Avocor Global General Manager Dana Corey, that simplifies the installation process, removes a device from the network, and reduces energy consumption, all of which affect total cost of ownership (TCO).
What sectors are both companies specifically targeting in the UK?
The primary sectors are retail, enterprise business signage and wayfinding, and UK higher education. The education application covers campus-wide communication, lecture hall signage, and student information displays. Avocor was founded in the UK roughly a decade ago, and NowSignage also has UK roots, which the two companies offer as part of the rationale for the collaboration.
How are the two companies aligning their channel support beyond the technology integration?
Charlie Zammit, Head of Product at NowSignage, said the partnership goes beyond technical compatibility: the two companies are aligning their channel support teams to help shared partners deliver installations. Avocor and NowSignage are also committing to a joint commercial strategy that combines resources to support sales channels, distributors, and integrators.

The Take

What should UK integrators ask before committing the Avocor B Series and NowSignage stack to a multi-site rollout?

The player-in-the-display approach is well-established in digital signage, many integrators have deployed SoC (system-on-chip) display-plus-CMS combinations before, so the real evaluation question here is not whether the concept works, but about this specific pairing. Here are some questions for integrators and end users looking at this solution.

Operational performance. How does the B Series SoC handle the NowSignage workloads the customer actually plans to run, high-resolution video loops, dynamic data feeds, scheduled content switching, under sustained load?

Security and compliance. NowSignage delivers content scheduling and device management through its own cloud infrastructure, which means content scheduling and device management flow through NowSignage servers. For UK higher-education and enterprise deployments, the relevant questions are where that data is hosted (UK, EU, or elsewhere), what certifications the platform carries (Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, or equivalent), and how device-level access control is provisioned and revoked.

Total cost of ownership over time. Eliminating the external media player lowers upfront hardware cost and reduces one failure point, that is genuine value. But TCO for a cloud CMS is a subscription calculation. Integrators should model the NowSignage licensing cost per screen across the expected contract term alongside the hardware savings, and understand what support tier is included versus what costs extra. The 2027 global rollout plan also raises a practical question: what is the support structure when the partnership expands to serve customers in new regions?
